Bio
Playing guitar for over 10 years, Sean has been teaching in the area ever since he arrived in Sarasota almost two years ago. His  passion and enthusiasm for beginner guitar lessons are contagious and entertaining. His ability to communicate the fundamentals through song and theory makes him a strong and passionate teacher.  Being in the recording business, Sean is a fanatic about tone and technique. Jon M. (Beginner, Classical, Finger-Style, Rock)
Playing guitar for 16 years, Jon has been performing in different groups around Sarasota for the past 5 years.  He started his professional playing career with the group "Cuerdas y Cueros" but eventually moved on to perform with "Los Listos," "The Lotus Fire," and now "Cabal."  He studied classical guitar technique and theory with Rex Willis for over four years.  He also had the opportunity to study abroad in Czech Republic under Remi Boucher and Oscar Guzman.  He began his teaching career in 2006, instructing on all different styles, but specializing in finger-style guitar.  Jon is under the firm belief that anyone has the capability to learn how to play guitar with proper guidance from a patient instructor and dedication to a consistent practice schedule.  It can be a most rewarding experience when even a hint of discipline is applied when learning anything!!!






Kevin C. (Rock, Metal)
Kevin has been playing guitar for over ten years and lives and breathes the instrument and music. Specializing in Rock, Blues, and Metal, Kevin's also enjoys a broad taste in music that spans multiple continents and cultures. Firmly believing that exposure to all types of music and instruments only enhances your abilities and growth as a musician, Kevin offers a unique approach to guitar that covers beginner to advanced styles. 
Kevin has played in bands and toured around Florida and the south and also has extensive live playing and studio recording experience, and has also had some of his songs featured on major radio. Kevin's main drives as a teacher are to share and communicate with his students as well as enrich their lives via the universal language that is music.





Randy S. (Advanced Blues)

Randy Stephens was born in 1966 Born in Panama City Florida, the same year the Temptations released “Aint too proud to beg”, and Jimi Hendrix formed his renowned Jimi Hendrix Experience. Randy’s musical experience began at the age of 10 playing Trumpet in elementary school where he graduated to first chair in Honor band. Randy started playing guitar in 1980 and performing regularly in blues jams and cover bands by 1986. 
A runner up winner in the 2000 “Jam with Kenny Wayne Shepherd’s Contest for his lead guitar work on the song “In Too Deep” and in 1992 was asked for his Oregon band Mr. X to open for Eric Burden and the Animals. Randy is currently performing regularly with The Randy Stephens band and also working in ‘Double Your Trouble’ a Stevie Ray Vaughan tribute band. His new CD ‘American Guitar’ released in 2011 is loaded with Electric Blues and Rock Guitar instrumentals and has already gained attention in the guitar community with awesome reviews from ‘Guitar International’ , ‘Blues Bytes’, and ‘Vintage Guitar’ Magazines.   He is absolutely ready to take your blues playing to levels you never thought possible.    







Ian S.
Founder of Sarasota Guitar Lessons, Ian has been playing guitar for nearly 20 years and is passionate and enthusiastic about everything guitar. He wants to (and does) work with the finest and most  enjoyable guitar teachers in the area. He specializes in rock, blues, country, strum along players and loves bringing his good attitude to each lesson. He has been working hard on new Seminars and E-Books to keep everyone involved with guitar motivated and practicing. He is also responsible for pairing up the right student with the right teacher to achieve the best communication and progress for each guitarist.
