Setting Expectations for Beginners
When first stepping into the "World of Guitar", there are many factors that will determine a student’s level of achievement. The most important one is practice. Unlike modern video games that give the illusion that playing guitar is as easy as pushing a button, real guitar takes a certain amount of practice. It is ideal to have at least a half hour every day to practice. This practice should always be fun, intriguing, and looked at as developing your skills and understanding. Staying motivated and understanding the commitment needed to play guitar is the foundation to your success.
When you begin lessons at S.G.L the Teachers will use our unique "Beginner’s Playing Guide" which was designed to; set expectations for students, provide a realistic structure for practice and goal setting, and help each Student develop important skills needed to take command of the instrument. Examples of these skills are: right hand technique, left hand technique, tablature reading, chord development and much more.
